OVA Try-Out Player Registration (Required Before Attending Rep Tryouts)
As of September 1, all athletes must be registered as a Try-Out Player through the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) before stepping onto the court for a tryout.
This requirement ensures that athletes and their parent/guardian have reviewed and accepted the required Waiver of Liability and Rowan’s Law Concussion Policy and Education materials, as mandated by the Government of Ontario.
Step 1: Create or Log In to Your OVA Account
Visit the OVA Member Registration System (MRS) to create an account for your child or log in to an existing account. Please ensure the account is created under the child’s name, not the parent/guardian’s name.
The OVA has also created helpful step-by-step guides, including how to create an account and reset your password: OVA – Become A Member
Step 2: Select “Try-Out Player”
During registration, select “Try-Out Player” on the Registration – Role Selection page. This membership is free.
Step 3: Bring Proof of Registration
At your child’s first tryout, you will be asked to provide proof that they are registered as a Try-Out Player.
You may show either:
- A screenshot of your OVA account dashboard, or
- A printed copy of your account dashboard.
The proof must clearly display:
- The athlete’s name
- Their Try-Out Player membership
An example is provided below.
Please do not email your proof of registration before tryouts.
