EVP Eagles Welcome Andula

Once again this upcoming season, EVP has acquired another valuable asset to our club. This time in the form of 6’5 Patryk Andula from Mississauga Ontario.

Andula, an alumni of both the York University Lions, and the Sheridan Bruins Men’s Varsity teams, recently captured a bronze medal finish at the OCAA Championships while earning All-Rookie team honors. Recognized as a dominant Right-Side attacker, scoring at a 2.22 Kills per set clip, .281 percentage and finishing with 129 Kills and 74 digs for the season. Andula also recorded 30 stuff blocks on the season and finished as one of the team’s most efficient blockers.

Known for his physical presence on the court, Andula also brought a very positive energy to the Bruins, becoming the final piece they needed to make history.

“My main goal is for the kids to have fun and come out of this upcoming year having learned the core fundamental skills of volleyball. I find based on my personal career experience, that when having fun you tend to play your best and strive to continue playing volleyball for a long time. I know my job coming in will be to facilitate a great learning environment and encourage the kids to continue playing this sport. It’s time to give back” said Andula.

Andula will be head coaching the 13u Girls Red team this year, with their first pre-season tournament kicking off on Oct. 21st. EVP President Matt Green is looking forward to Andula developing the young team this upcoming season.

“With Patryk, we know him through him playing in our Adult leagues in the summer, and of course through a few of our coaches at EVP. All of whom have mentioned both his passion and his positive personality. His valuable experience of the game, along with a smile that you won’t ever catch him without, made him one of the primary coaches we knew we had to go after.” – Matt Green EVP Eagles President

“Patryk was a fellow rookie during my time at Sheridan. Definitely one of the heaviest hitters I’ve ever come across in my career, but more importantly one of the best teammates you could ever ask for. During a season where we were under a lot of pressure to win, Patryk brought both fun and competition to the group, and in my opinion helped rejuvenate a team that was stuck at a certain point for too long. Always a friend first, I have no doubt he will succeed as a beloved member of the Eagles family.” – Kevin Chien, 16u Boys Head Coach.

Andula is joining Jordan Murray (14u Red), John Pham (14u Boys), Kevin Chien (16u Boys), Riley Cullis (14u Girls) and Robbie Bodanis (18 Girls) as new head coaches for the upcoming 20117-18 season.
